NorCal cold, then rain; SoCal persistence

Quick update today. Very cold temps this AM in the inland valleys of the Bay Area–got as low as 17 degrees in isolated locations, with 20-25 in places like Santa Rosa and Napa. Interesting to note that we in the thermal belt (300-1000 foot) range saw much warmer overnight lows–only 37 here. Still frosty tomorrow with ice on all the windshields, but the trend will be for wetter weather during the next few days. Decent precip. event Thurs. as far south as the Bay Area, with a few light showers possible in SoCal. A few weak systems over the wknd in NorCal, then the next chance of rain will be towards the middle of next wk. This could be a more significant storm, possibly even impacting SoCal with substantial rainfall. Much more details this wknd, including some promising teleconnective prognoses…
