Quick update…

Significant convective activity has developed over Santa Barbara County and is moving northwards towards the Bay Area. The upper disturbance associated with this convection is drifting north,  and will move over the Bay Area tomorrow. Expect some significant (and potentially strong) tstm activity over interior CentCal and possibly the Bay Area tomorrow. Much of this activity is producing significant CG lightning strikes but very little rainfall at the surface, so a major fire threat is currently developing. Hot temps will compound the fire weather issues as the heat wave continues well after this round of dry thunderstorms has moved on. Stay tuned…
