Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 21, 2026
Weather West is committed to making its content accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
What we’ve done
- Designed pages to work with keyboard navigation and screen readers
- Ensured links are distinguishable by more than color alone
- Checked text and interface elements for sufficient color contrast
- Tested pages with automated accessibility tools
- Avoided third-party “overlay” widgets, which can interfere with assistive technology
Known limitations
Weather West has been published continuously for over 20 years, and some older posts, charts, and maps may lack descriptive alternative text. Some features are provided by third parties, including comments (Disqus) and embedded posts or videos (e.g., YouTube, Bluesky, X), and their accessibility is outside our direct control. We are working to improve older content over time.
Feedback and alternative formats
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on Weather West, or need content in an alternative format, please let us know via the contact form. Please describe the page and the problem you encountered. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
